Church and Azure Restaurant (Winterlicious)

What a refreshing day. Not as cold as expected. The highlight for today: French Cuisine! We're going to Azure Restaurant. Part of the Winterlicious festival where all the fancy-shmancy restaurants allow lowly people like us to have a taste of their usually overly priced menu. Lunch was $25.

These are the ladies of the house running to catch the Spidina Street car to church.

Today's message was pretty good. About faith and deeds. James. The good ol' instructional, bordering intimidating book of the new testament. Makes me question my already failing faith. But it does give hope in a sense. To improve your faith, can do deeds. I don't think it's legalistic. For those who are lost, being told what you can do really helps. Especially for me. I've been talking too much. I'm trying to reduce my chatter now. More action. Less talk. Sure, talk livens the mood for people around. But it totally drops my credibility. Not good for myself. Talking TOO MUCH, that is. I'm not - and I simply just can't - turn into the strong silent type, no matter how much I try =S.

Bread.. When my sis saw this, she was guess wad emotion? When my mom saw this, she was like: "You think this is refillable?" We didn't ask in the end. Luckily, because the bread was just right.

Yes. Just right.

This is the general feel of the place with my beautiful sister in the foreground. High ceiling. It will be nice, except the bars on top makes it look the the jurong east interchange..

Moving on, here's the food:

These are the appetizers. Duck Confit Salad and Smoked Salmon. The pumpkin sauce was delish.

Next..

My sis and my Lamb Pasta. VERY NICE. And ma's Rainbow Trout.

Then dessert. It was ok.. Expected more. Definitely not  2am Dessert Bar quality.. But was satisfied.. enuff.

Mom's fave bread pudding. It was the best of the lot imho.

And mine:

French Apple Pie. ehhh, ok lah. Ate it with some really good coffe. That thing sticking at me at the bottom of the photo is Zhiyang's Chocolate Strawberry Churros. Didn't take the photo.

Alright. That's it for today. I'm going ice skating now. Have yet to sharpen the blades of my new CMM Intruder skates.
